What is the difference between garam masala and chicken masala?
Garam masala, chicken masala, mutton masala, fish masala
All uses the same Spices, then whats the difference
All of these spices are different.
Garam Masala is a spice made out of 8 spices. It is widely used in Indian Food.
Other Masala use Whole Garam Masalas as base and add few more spices.
When British came to India. They got confused with all these different spices. British Chef counted all the spices and found out that there are 20 Indian Spices not including Chili powder and Salt. They roast them all and grind all 20 spices together. The final product was given name “Curry Powder”.
Curry Powder was not invented by India. It is widely used in UK, US, Canada and Asia.
Chicken Masala, Mutton Masala, Fish Masala, Channa Masala, Chart Masala, all these are differnet blends of those 20 spices. There is no special spice in any of them. You can easily make these at home.
